WhatsApp Has Been Hacked
WhatsApp announced yesterday that there are indications that a private company had violated its message application and was immediately reported to the U.S. Department of Justice.
According to Reuters “WhatsApp, one of the world’s most popular messaging tools, is used by 1.5 billion people monthly. It has touted its high level of security and privacy, with messages on its platform being encrypted end-to-end so that WhatsApp and third parties cannot read or listen to them. A spokesman for WhatsApp said the attack was complicated and had the signs of a “private company working with governments for monitoring operations”.
The company encourages people to upgrade to the latest version of WhatsApp as well as keep your mobile device’s operating system up to date order to protect your devices from potentially being targeted to exploit your information.
