New Ad Tracking Privacy Feature to be Launched by Apple
Apple’s browser engine, Webkit, will be now tracking advertising clicks through a new technology that will be launched soon.
As many companies in Silicon Valley have struggled with data privacy scandals, the new technology from Apple will report whether a click has led to a purchase while still protecting its users’ privacy.
According to Reuters, “Users will not be uniquely identified across websites they visit in order to track ad clicks, and the technology will only let those websites be involved in measuring the clicks, not any “opaque” third parties, according to a blog post on Webkit’s website.”
Seems like users’ privacy have become a priority issue for the company as recently Apple introduced a new app called News+, that will not reveal to advertisers what users are reading.
