Eightpoint Technologies & Sister Company Employees are ALL Working From Home – Do We Like it or Hate it?!
Due to the Coronavirus – Eightpoint Technologies and our sister companies decided that the smartest approach would be to close our offices and have all employees work from home in “self-isolation.” In general, Eightpoint employees spend a great deal of time with one another in and outside of work – and working on each other’s computers collaborating, so we thought it would be best to shut down the offices. NO – we aren’t crazy, but we definitely don’t want to contribute to the medical facilities being overrun by sick patients and we are lucky that the Cayman Islands have only seen a couple of cases, so we’d like to keep it that way. The Cayman Islands Government have also taken necessary precautions by closing all their public places, as of right now the public schools, bars and even some hotels are all on a mandatory close – so here at Eightpoint Technologies we know we are helping the cause by staying home as much as possible!
The real question though is – do we like it or hate it?! Sure, working from home is nice – and I don’t think any of us have reached talking to a volleyball status yet BUT the consensus seems to be – we’d rather be in the office! When Eightpoint employees were notified of the closure there were a handful of hesitant replies due to the fact they would not be able to collaborate or just the general boredom. Some employees, however, have enjoyed their time home with their children, pets and even swimming pools!
Eightpoint employees are extremely fortunate to work for a company that is internet based and fully functional remotely. We are also fortunate that everyone enjoys coming into the office so much they were disappointed we were closing! If you want to work for a company where the employees are happy and value their employees’ health/well-being you’ve come to the right place! Well, we’d love to speak with you!
