Eight Cayman Climbers Commence Trek To Himalayas
From sea level, to one of the highest points on the Earth, 8 amazing Cayman natives are journeying to the Himalayas. This group, which refer to themselves as the “Cayman Turtle Trekkers” are entering into one of the greatest adventures of their lives for an entire month. This group will be attempting to climb a summit coincidentally named “Island Peak.” Barry Yetton, who runs the group’s blog at caymanturtletrekkers.com said last Tuesday that he was on the way to the airport and ready to embark on one of the great adventures of his life. The Cayman Turtle Trekkers have been training and preparing for this climb for 6 months and incorporated local Cayman locations to train, like the observation tower at Camana Bay and rock climbing on Cayman Brac.
The group is scheduled to leave Kathmandu for their journey home on Nov. 14, but they will have more than three weeks to take in the sights of one of the world’s most unforgettable landscapes. The temperatures will potentially reach the 70s Farenheit while the group is in Kathmandu, but it will be far colder during the length of the trek. EightPoint Technologies wishes you eight amazing trekkers well and safe travels on your amazing journey!
