Dance For a Cause by Mrs Jackies dance School
Miss Jackie’s School of Dance, the oldest dance school in Cayman, is celebrating 46 years of teaching dance in the Cayman Islands. The company, along with some of the junior members of the school, rehearsed diligently for its two magical shows on Saturday. The production titled “Dancing For a Cause” was designed to not just bring Christmas cheer to the audience. But also a fundraising initiative for Father Ho Lung’s Missionaries of the Poor. The Catholic priest’s organisation in Jamaica, ministers to the poor and vulnerable and is well-known throughout the Caribbean.
The school has a number of charities for which it raises money. In October, dancers were seen at Jasmine’s ‘Voices around the World’. And at the end of November, they performed at the Pink Ladies Bazaar.
The show took place on one day only, with a matinee at 3 pm and an evening performance at 7 pm at the Harquail Theatre.
