Cayman Hosts Gala Event Honoring Scuba Pioneers
This past weekend The Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort was a gracious host to the Cayman-based International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame annual gala. A handful of the world’s top scuba divers came together to honor and celebrate the most recent inductees into the scuba diving hall of fame. There were so many impressive people present at the event that have made marvelous contributions to not only the sport but to education, art and innovation of scuba diving as well. Among the dive legends present were: Stephen Frink, an underwater photographer, Dick Rutkowski, a tech diver, and last but not least, Wulf Koehler, an inventor, dive instructor, photographer, and writer. This Hall of Fame event was established in 2000 by the Cayman Islands Ministry of Tourism. It was established to celebrate and honor the minds of those who contributed to the growth and overall success of recreational scuba diving worldwide in the areas of dive tourism, equipment design as well as innovation, education, and adventure of course! It was the event of the year in the Caymans and we at EightPoint are so happy to be located in an area where scuba diving is a norm and those who partake are honored for their advancements and contributions!
